Step 1: harvest ripe pears from the tree the same day that you are making the whole canned pears.
Step 2: Get about 5 kilos of fresh pears.
Step 3a: peel each pear
Step 3b: keep the pears whole with the stems intact
Step 4: Add equal amounts of water and 50% sugar to pears and boil until mixture reaches 200 degrees.
Step 5: boil canning jars and lids for at least 10 minutes to sterilize.
Step 6: Using a funnel to keep the rims clean, add whole pears to jars.
Step 7: add syrup from hot mixture to fill the jars, leaving 1/2 inch to the rim and then put on sterilized lids. you are almost done 🙂
Step 8/Last step: boil the filled jars for 30 minutes and then leave to cool. YOU ARE DONE – congratulations!
