Small and charming Italian beach town, Ospedaletti

The border to Italy is less than an hour from LaSoleiade, so we often take a morning, an afternoon, or sometimes an overnight trip to Italy.  We discovered this relatively unknown small beach town call Ospedaletti (it is like the word hospital in Italian) that was named after a 14th-century hospital. It is called the pearl of the Riveria del Fiori (coast of the flowers) but we have found that it is relatively undiscovered and is only crowded in the height of the summer vacation season.

As you can see from the pictures, it is small and charming with beautiful beach and the expected gorgeous blue waters typical of the Med region.

Let’s be honest, we go for the FOOD!! There is a very popular restaurant, Byblos, that we still have never been able to get into it, but in our adventures, we have found several more that we really like – Aquarelle and Come a Casa. You will find an abundance of really fresh fish in most restaurants, like in the picture below – it was literally ‘the catch of the day’ and all of our plates had a different mix of whatever was brought in by the fisherman – loved it!!

The Ristorante Bar Gelateria Alexandra has a great terrace for watching the sunset.

If we stay for the evening, we stay at Albergo Petit Royal and request room 106 for its terrace that looks over the village and the water.

note: my sister, Ang, always insists on going for an amazing cappuccino!
