One of our favorite small French hilltop villages to visit is Tourettes-sur-Loup, a medieval village with fortified architectural qualities. The medieval village is well renowned for its arts and there are approximately 40 artisans who live in the village. It is charming, colorful and there is a beautiful picture around every corner. Some of the shops are even built right into the rocks, as you can see in one of the pictures below.
It is a wonderful village to just wander through and enjoy the cobbled streets and its authenticity (and lack of crowds).
